I'm a slacker. So here are Lyric's 2, 3 & 4 weeks pictures & an overall update. He's such a good baby, and I'm so completely thankful that I was given this precious gift to call my own.
A few things I've learned this month:
Get the diaper ready before you take the other off, maybe its just because he's a boy... well duh it is, but I get peed on at least once a day! Having the clean diaper ready is extremely helpful to stay dry.
Make sure the wipes are refilled before its time to change the diaper... don't know if you'v ever tried to open a wipe box & then a tricky refill wipe bag while holding a crying baby before.. but its no easy task.
Get the diaper bag ready WELL before its time to get things in the car & go. A few times I've forgotten and put L in his carseat.. then realized how many things I forgot to pack. Back to the nursery I went for backup wipes, diapers, extra outfits, pacis and WHERE DID I PUT MY NURSING COVER?! The little man did not appreciate this and lets just say he was traumatized and I'll never do it again, well I hope.
Bring water to bed with you. Nursing makes me extremely thirsty, especially when those 3am feedings roll around.. and waking up a snoring husband to get you a drink may not be the best idea... trust me.
Weight: He is now weighing 7.5 pounds, at 5 weeks. Little peanut.
Hair: Dark Brown, but getting lighter
Eyes: Dark navy.
Diapers: Still in newbie diapers at 5 weeks.
Clothes: All newborn still.
Eating: Exclusively breastfeeding.
Sleeping: He is such a great sleeper, he naps through out the day. Has about 2 longer naps where he will go about 3 hours. Once in the boring and once at about 3:30ish. He goes "down" for the night at about 10. Wakes up to eat at 12, and then usually stays up for an hour or so, which is fine because I stay up late usually. This is where it gets tricky... sometimes the little guy will sleep straight from then on until 8! yes 8. But if he wakes up to eat then he is up at 3. And those nights he is up for the day at 5:30. So naps all around on those days! He's so unpredictable with his night sleeping patterns right now.
